Valentine's Day

What happens on Valentine's Day?

Valentine’s Day happens once per year on the 14th of February and is considered the day of love. It’s a day you spend with that special someone and renew your love and affection. It’s also a very good day if you’re single to tell someone you like just how much you care about them.

Where does Valentine’s Day come from?

Valentine’s Day is name after the Bishop Valentine of Terni who lived in the 3rd century A.D. According to legend, Bishop Valentine married a young couple against the order of the king. In addition, it is also said that he gave the young married couple flowers from his garden. Bishop Valentine was then murdered for contempt and thus became a martyr. Not everyone believes this legend though. Some people believe that Valentine’s Day was invented by florists to make money!

Finding the right gift for Valentine’s Day

It’s not always easy to find the perfect gift for you loved one. You can always start with buying your girlfriend roses or a box of chocolates, but unfortunately these gifts are a little bit corny. However, don’t fret! You don’t have to buy that special someone something expensive just give them something that makes them laugh or reminds them of good memories together. Your partner will be happy when you buy something that shows you thought about them!
